Just another Tuesday in Florence
I woke up for an early run with Lauren and we ran up to Piazza Michelangelo. Afterwards we went to class, and talked about Marco Polo for a little bit. We got a nice break for lunch and then we were back for sociology talking about how food and the order of different meals influences culture. We asked questions like: what makes a main dish? Why do we eat big meals on holidays like Christmas? It was pretty interesting. After that we recieved about a 10 minute break where we then learned about Italy during the 2nd World War and the influences of fascism. Actually it was more like a lecture on modern history of Italy, how it was united as a nation in 1871 and how there are still huge regional differences. After that the day was essentially done. I just skyped and made some eggs for dinner. Luckily they had fixed my water heater the day before while I was in Fiesole. It might not seem like a very exciting day but it was still a good day in Florence.
